The evolving requirement of the construction industry coupled with the growing environmental pressures for companies to use manufactured/recycled sands in place of finer and easier to pump natural sands have fuelled the demand for high performance superplasticisers. the result has been the development of a new generation of admixtures based upon polycarboxylate ether technology. Superplasticisers generally perform two key functions in concrete & mortar:

  1. They allow significant water reduction without sacrificing 'workability'
  2. They significantly increase 'slump' without the need to increase the water content

Using water to increase workability of concrete can severely weaken the setting strength. Our new generation of polycarboxylate powders disperse cement by combining the traditional effect of electrostatic repulsion with 'steric hindrance' facilitated by the molecular structure of polycarboxylate ether-based technology.

The result is that RheoActiv SP can facilitate water reduction by up to 40% without compromising the workability of the concrete.
